The birth of the council. Kenya Expo 2009

The Kenya Advisory Council is a support group for groups and nonprofit organizations in Illinois and surrounding areas engaged in development work in Kenya. Members of the council get to share experiences and ideas, address common challenges and sometimes new partnerships. The advisory council grew out of the December 2010 Kenya Expo.

AYSO partnered with UKC to bring Kenyan youth to Chicago in 2006

United Kenyans of Chicago has always valued partnerships for development in Kenya and has partnered with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and the Dixon Sister City Committee on initiatives and programs. A section of our monthly newsletter has a dedicated to the work of council members.
