Chicago Mayor’s Award

On February 20th 2008, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley presented United Kenyans of Chicago NFP with an award recognizing UKC as the best “Upcoming African Organization” in Chicago, during the City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations annual Black History Month celebrations. The award was in recognition of UKC’s achievements and service agency within the Illinois African community. Present were African Advisory Council Chair Dr. Nurudeen Oluwopopo, Director Arnold Romeo, civic leaders and African community leaders.
